Energy Statistics 2005


Summary
Energy Statistics 2005 includes statistics on energy supply, power and heat transformation, gross and final energy consumption and CO2-emissions generated by energy consumption.
In 2005, adjusted gross energy consumption increased by 0.9 per cent to 845 PJ. This should be compared with an increase in economic activity measured in terms of gross domestic product of 3.0 per cent. Relative to 1980, adjusted gross energy consumption has changed only sligthly (an increase of 3.8 per cent). In the same period, GDP grew by almost 70 per cent.
In 2005, consumption of renewable energy grew to 129 PJ, which is 15.5 per cent of total energy consumption in Denmark. Energy production and net foreign exchange earnings from energy reached record heights.
